Dr. Fauci – Part 1

Dr. Anthony Fauci, President Trump’s expert on infectious diseases, has become a familiar face at the frequent, White House coronavirus news conferences –however he seems to be appearing less and less at these events as scientists don’t seem too comfortable working alongside the president. Fauci is an omnipresent TV expert and, more and more, a cartoon character.  Here is part one of two collections of Dr. Fauci cartoons.

Trump and Disinfectant PART 1

Last Thursday America was fascinated to see President Trump pushing one of his medical experts to research crazy and harmful proposed cures for COVID-19, including drinking or injecting toxic disinfectants and shining light inside the body. I got emails from quacks pushing bleach pills soon after Trumps spectacle. Scary nonsense that led to lots of cartoons –see the best of the batch below, with a second installment tomorrow as these cartoons are still coming in.

Forgotten Biden – Part 1

With all eyes on the pandemic there are very few cartoons being drawn about the presidential election. Trump still dominates cartoons, along with nasty coronavirus monster-balls, but poor Joe Biden has become almost invisible.  I thought I would scour the database for nice, recent Biden cartoons, and there were enough for only two posts of Biden cartoons. Here they are, the recent Biden cartoons, with part two tomorrow.

We may end up re-electing Trump simply because we all forgot that there is a presidential election this year.

Blame China! Part 1

President Trump has recently been more vocal in blaming China for the coronavirus, as have many voices in the media. China is blamed for being slow to respond to the virus, for silencing Chinese critics and for releasing dubious statistics and propaganda. I’m starting out with the cartoons from Luojie, our CagleCartoonist from Beijing who draws for The China Daily, China’s state owned, national English language newspaper. Loujie draws the Chinese government’s official point of view, pushing back against the criticism coming from America.

First to Sound the Alarm

President Trump claims that he wasn’t late in taking action about the pandemic, he argues that he was early, by declaring a travel ban on China on January 31st, to take effect on February 2nd. Among those sounding an early alarm about the coronavirus threat are the editorial cartoonists. Here is a batch of cartoons from our cartoon first responders who were quick to draw the danger.
