It all ended the only way it could. Every man is responsible for his own inventory be he 16 or 80
I'm sure Zimmerman doesn't feel it is free! He feels very badly for taking a life, particularly a young person. However these young teens need to realize there are consequences for: #1 being somewhere you don't belong and #2 don't be so "smart alecky" with adults. It's not a matter of white or black, it's a matter of Yes sir, No sir!!
If Georgie didn't have a gun, he wouldn't have gotten out of his car. And this whole scenerio would be a non-issue. But his gun made him feel 'safe'…to disobey the cops, who told him to stay put. It's a sad mess.
I have said from the outset Mr Zimmerman would be found not guilty. Our justice system has said he is not guilty but those who don't believe it still are claiming he is. Therefore those who don't believe he should be set free are not AMERICANS who believe in the U.S. system of justice. Of course Mr Zimmerman was tried and convicted before he even came to trial by those who hate it that he shot & killed Trayvon Martin. The one that should have been on trial was the Florida law allowing the shooting and then explain why. MRr ZIMMERMAN IS NOT GUILTY–GET OVER IT-OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM HAS SPOKEN. .
Mike, That is perhaps the dumbest thing I have ever read. You're an idiot.
daryl, true to form, thinks the poor criminal is innocent and the law-abiding citizen is guilty… thank goodness he wasn't on the jury! 1/why were the original district attorney and police chief replaced because they didn't think there was evidence to justify a trial? 2/why did the special prosecutor skip the grand jury and go to trial on her own? 3/why did the special prosecutor withhold evidence and fire her assistant when he, as the law requires, handed the evidence over to the defense. 4/why did the special prosecutor insist zimmerman was guilty after the jury found him not guilty, thereby making her self judge and jury? 5/why did the special prosecutor say the reason she was going to trial was because everyone had a right to know (is that why we have trials?) the details of the case?
Where exactly did Trayvon not belong? Was it his Dad's house, was it the seven eleven, was it in between those 2 places when he was walking home? When I was 17, if some odd looking little goofball like Zimmerman has been following me, while I was just walking along minding my own business, I would have challenged him too. It's a normal reaction for as 17 year old male. If Zimmerman had stayed in his car as he was told, none of this would have happened. Also, you're an idiot.
yo oasischris: It was not a cop on the other end of the cell phone just another civilian making a suggestion. No an order. So in no way did Zimmerman ever disobey a cop. And since when are cops always right. Cops have become little power hungry tin gods in their eyes. And need to be taken down a peg or two also. They and the courts have taken to much freedom from the people. But this is another subject.
Normal reaction doesn't mean 'legal reaction'. He could have gone on or called the police, instead he either circled back or laid in wait to assault a man that he didn't know was armed. Following people in Zimmerman's manner is not illegal.
The prosecution had the opportunity to challenge those who got onto the jury – it basically did nothing. From the beginning, many in the legal community saw this as an almost dream defendant's jury. The prosecution also went beyond the pale – "child abuse"?!? A 6'2" football player with some definite behaviorial and attitude issues? This punk was no wide-eyed innocent. The standard for a criminal conviction is "beyond a reasonable doubt." That is the law – deal with it. What this case highlights is that society now has to be afraid of calling minority groups to account for their dysfunctional life styles and propensities for violence all out of proportion to their percentage of the population. Now we here threats of the Feds looking into civil rights violations. Really? How about looking into civil rights violations by those minority group flash mobs that target white tourists? Or do civil rights violations flow only one way?
WHY are these idiotic comments here about this teenager's size & "being where he didn't belong being posted? These are the people who would swear on a stack of Bibles that they aren't racist. They don't even recognize WHAT they are! How pathetic. I will bet most of them go to church every Sunday and believe they are wonderful Christian people. Shame on all of them!! They better figure themselves out & own up to what they are. Only then can change occur.
By the way, WHO posted the crazy comment about OJ & the celebrating after his "not guilty" verdict? So that makes this all right, now. ALSO…the footage shown on youtube & tv the night the verdict was handed down, was NOT taking place in FL. If those "Geography handicapped" people who believed that, I can tell you that there are NOT mountains in FL. This was a video of the "riot" in Canada after the soccer game. But, of course, the uninformed &, dare I say, uneducated, folks just didn't notice that LITTLE particular background, huh?
