Five Cartoons About Obama's Victory Lap

As we celebrate the one year anniversary of the death of Osama bin Laden, critics of the President feel it’s inappropriate for him to take a victory lap. They’re especially miffed at Obama for suggesting that his Republican opponent, Mitt Romney, wouldn’t have taken the same course of action.

John McCain, recently said, “You Know the Thing About Heroes? They Don’t Brag.” Romney, when asked by a reporter if he would have made the call to launch the raid, said “of course” he would have. “Even Jimmy Carter would have given that order.”

Here are a handful of cartoons about Obama’s “bragging rights.”

He derserves all the credit since he thought up the idea, trained the troops, found the intelligence and risked his life leading the charge. NOT

Frankly if Dubya did it he probalby would have awarded himself a presidential freedom medal… created a new cabinet for it and probably skydive off a bomber onto an Aircraft with a banner saying "Mission Accomplished (again)"

Yeah, after all, didn't Vice President Cheyney shoot bin Laden during his first term in office? Certainly Cheyney shot somebody, I recall.

It must depend on what side of the yard sign you're looking from. I'll never forget seeing lawns festooned with "Support the troops and President Bush" signs in 2004, as if one could not support the troops without supporting the man who put them in harm's way. The fact that President Obama accomplished what George W. Bush could not (or would not) in seven years following 9/11. And, Romney said (in 2007) he wouldn't do what Obama did before he said he would do it (this week)….just another flip-flop for him. Same goes for McCain.

Well, Obama did make the call to send Seal Team 6 in to get bin Laden. If the Seals had been unsuccessful, I imagine, the republicans would have begun impeachment proceedings immediately against the President. The President said if he had a shot at bin Laden, even if in another country, he would go for it. Can't argue the fact he did what he said he would do. Little was known of bin Laden's whereabouts until after Obama became President.
Not like Puss Bush. Who didn't feel getting bin Laden was all that important. Shifted most resources to that idiocy in Iraq. And gloated on the air craft carrier, that all was well.

How can the GOP imagine that we are too stupid to remember Bush's lame, weak-ass bravado at every turn during his disastrous eight years? Obama, by contrast, is contemplative, intelligent, and hardly the braggart that Bush was. Agreeing 100% with Static2083: had Bush done the same thing, there would be a million dollar ticker-tape parade on the Monthly anniversary.

Whenever anyone starts to question or criticize Yomama, the automatic subject turns to his predecessor. I think we all know that George W. Retard had his weakness and his problems, but Obozo has only magnified, amplified, and compounded those problems and issues. The Bush people pushed for expanded Medicare with prescription drug benefits, but Oblahblah and company diverted resources and attention to pass a "health care" bill that they didn't even bother to read, let alone understand. Dubya was excited about the unconstitutional, unaffordable, unwinnable "wars" on the other side of the planet, but Barrack has done nothing substantive to improve things over there. He's a charlatan, but it's obviously working: just read a lot of the posts here, and you'll see what I mean.

Since Obama claims to have gotten Osama Bin Ladin, but burried him at sea before anyone could see him, does that really give him braging rights? Because if that is so, I want to claim to have shot Bigfoot, but I burried him in the woods. LOL

It took odumbo about 16 hours to make up his mind. He probably had to get permission from Saudi Arabia to kill a muslim.

I will not celebrate the death of another human being – even somebody like Osama. I will not drag myself down to the level of Middle Eastern Denizens who were dancing in the streets back on 11SEP01. It was terrible that Osama Bin Laden did what he did – perhaps there is nothing we can do to change peoples hearts – but I will not celebrate.

Evidently you are not intelligent enough to figure out why he was buried at sea. Imagine the outcry if his courpse was put on public display, the muslims would still be burning buildings in this country!

Yea Bush was pictured holding hands with the Saudi Prince, is that why he let Bin Laden go at Tora Bora ? Funny how you right wingers never mention that.

Had Romney been President in 2008, he would have stopped looking or Ben Laden, unlike Obama who did order that they keep hunting him. . So, despite Romney's claim that "Even Carter would have ordered it" would not have Romney, had he been president, as Ben Laden would not have been found, as no one would have been looking, period.
