As we’re seeing new momentum to “defund the police” we’re also seeing new videos of terrible police brutality. The police horrors are damaging the police themselves, that’s the idea behind my cartoon for today.
And here are some of my favorite, recent cartoons about the police, from our Cagle Cartoonists.
Our reader supported site, Cagle.com, still needs you! Journalism is threatened with the pandemic that has shuttered newspaper advertisers. Some pundits predict that a large percentage of newspapers won’t survive the pandemic economic slump, and as newspapers sink, so do editorial cartoonists who depend on newspapers, and along with them, our Cagle.com site, that our small, sinking syndicate largely supports, along with our fans.
The world needs political cartoonists more now than ever. Please consider supporting Cagle.com and visit Cagle.com/heroes. We need you! Don’t let the cartoons die!

OMG! It’s just mind-boggling to see these UGLY truths revealed … in real-time & in “Cagle Cartoons.
truly, America’s hypocrisy is on full display, and Rep. Trumpers & assorted sycophants keep setting the “Barr“ ever lower.
I would like to post a quote from Robert G. Ingersoll
1833-1899
“If abuses are destroyed, man must destroy them. If slaves are freed, man must free them. If new truths are discovered, man must discover them. If the naked are clothed; if the hungry are fed; if justice is done; if labor is rewarded; if superstition is driven from the mind; if the defenceless are protected and if the right finally triumphs, all must be the work of man. The grand victories of the future must be won by man, and by man alone.”
Robert Green Ingersoll. The Works of Robert G. Ingersol
The oppression of black and brown people has been a constant in our history. History marches on. All efforts to change the laws to make them more equitable for the black community are dismissed.
From the slave owners in the South to the white supremacist of today, this incomprehensible despicable hatred of blacks rages on. And all of our laws are written to make sure it continues.
Until the black people can represent themselves in sufficient numbers to change the laws, it will continue. It will take a coalition of black and white voters and legislators to over power the elements in our legislature who want this system to continue.
We white people seem unable to hear unless there is glass breaking. We cannot see until there is smoke and fire. We cannot act until there are tears and blood and death.
This is the time for all of us to think about what kind of people we want to be going forward as a nation. In three years we have fallen from the pinnacle of world leadership to scorn and ridicule around the world. We have abandoned friendships around the world. We have seen our own citizenry threatened with military assault. We have got to get this right.
