The G-8 meeting was scheduled before the tornado put Joplin on the map.  Add in the fact that search and rescue / recovery had a much higher priority than a largely symbolic Presidential visit, and Obama was correct in following his scheduled plans.  Not only that, but by waiting a week he was able to participate in the memorial service for the entire community.

Only the very small-minded Republican and Neo-Nazi Tea-bagger would be critical of this.  And in their eyes he couldn’t do anything correctly anyway.
