Snakes are definitely the appropriate metaphor for who this got passed. Well done, if only those clowns in Washington felt the same way you did, that bill would never have passed. Now the doctors retire, and the ones that stick around unionize. ugh.

HAHAHAHA every time the neocons get dealt a resounding defeat they say lame things like "just you wait til X months you're going to lose" LOL Pooooooor pooor bitter neocons just never learn. That's ok. I like them this way!

I still can't get over that what was passed looks like it was written by a bunch of moderate republicans. Since they had to do it without the repubs, they should have had a more progressive bill that included true public plan that would have brought some competition to the big insurers that dominate in most states. One fourth of those getting medical care in the U.S. now do so through Medicaid/Medicare and the VA. Many additional for kids through various CHIP programs.

"*yay higher taxes for us :|*

So, you make more than $200,000 a year . . ."

We will all be taxed whether or not we make more the $200,000 a year. 9 Billion dollars is a LOT of money and it will take more than just the "rich" to pay for it. I have already heard that some school districts are talking about raising property taxes to pay for the rate increase from their insurance carriers for next year. We will all see a raise in state, local and federal taxes to pay for this.

*I have already heard* . . . *We will all* . . . gotta love certainty without evidence!

According to the CBO (and common sense), this will save billions in the long run; we may eventually see tax CUTS!

"One fourth of those getting medical care in the U.S. now do so through Medicaid"

So 25% of the population are total LOSERS!?!?!

"Many additional for kids through various CHIP programs.""

Because of WORTHLESS parents who had children THEY COULDN'T AFFORD!

An empty victory because it did not represent THE PEOPLE – can't leave out the Republican Party, The Libertarian Party and Doctor Opinions – and add a telephone book sized, thousands of pages of bribes and call it a BILL… more like a pay off scandal.

Too bad that the President choose to become part of the Washington system – of corruption, game paying, and lobbyist buyoffs

I like that the snakes are from what is oft mistaken to be the symbol of the medical profession. The two snakes represent the God of trickery, wealth and death (!!!), the actual medical symbol has just one snake.

"According to the CBO (and common sense), this will save billions in the long run; we may eventually see tax CUTS!"

How does common sense tell us that a $938 Billion dollar expense will save us money? Maybe 150 years from now. My grandchildren will still be paying for this when their grandkids are born.

The money goes to cure an out-of-control system, that's common sense!

Your grandkids, maybe even you, will likely eventually be getting the benefits of a surplus from this!
