Biden is Running – Top Ten Cartoons of the Week

It’s finally official – President Joe Biden is running for reelection in 2024. At 80, Biden is already the oldest president in the country’s history. If he wins the election, he’ll be 82 when he’s inaugurated and leave office at the age of 86, which is sure to be great fodder for the nation’s cartoonists.

It’s not as if his likely opponent, former President Donald Trump, is all that younger. Trump would be 77-years-old on inauguration day. Here are our top ten most reprinted cartoons of the week:

#1. Rick McKee

#2. R.J. Matson

#3. Pat Bagley

#4. Jeff Koterba

#5. Dick Wright

#6. Bob Englehart

Inflation and supply chain problems continue to be issues that resonate with readers, especially with the news this week that baby formula is hard to find. What food shortage will we be drawing about next week?

Inflation Irritation: Top Ten Cartoons of the Week

Inflation remains a ripe topic for cartoonists, as prices of just about everything continue to rise across the country. It’s a good thing most cartoonists have gone digital, otherwise they’d be hit hard by the cost of paper and ink.

In other news, Russia’s war in Ukraine is still going on, with Putin and his forces unable to overwhelm the country’s defenses. And Sunday is Mother’s Day, in case you’d forgotten.

#1

RJ Matson took the #1 most reprinted spot.

#2

Dave Granlund took second place.

Roe vs. Wade and the SCOTUS Leak

A leaked, draft decision by the Supreme Court has shaken the nation as the justices prepare to overturn abortion rights, overturning fifty years of settled law. The court has acknowledged that the document is authentic and it seems unlikely that any of the majority, conservative justices will change their minds.  The cartoons are starting to flood in – here are the first ones we received from the CagleCartoonists.  I’ll update these as more come in.

The world needs political cartoonists more now than ever. Please consider supporting Cagle.com and visit Cagle.com/heroes.
