Your comments about "greed" and "necessary evil" are typical of warmist Luddites who, because they know nothing of science or technology confuse intelligent discussion with blather. I will however agree with the observation that wind turbines are evil but, far from being necessary, they are a curse. Without grants to manufacturers, subsidies to operators and premium electricty prices to consumers they wouldn't exist. The Canadian province of Ontario ignored the economics, overbuilt the wretched things and created an economic disaster from which it will probably have to be bailed out by the feds i.e. by the provinces that didn't step into the renewables trap.

Ray Harris,

You indicate that you are associated in some way with a university. What would your faculty be? Social sciences? Law? Certainly not a scientic discipline. Your snide comment about "deniers" and "evolution" misses the mark by a country mile. For example, I just returned from my weekly lunch with a group of geoscientists including a few with advanced degrees. At least half of them are atheists, and not one of them takes the global warming hypothesis seriously, nor should they given the empirical evidence to the contrary. For example, the global temperature trend has been static for 15 years and the Antarctic ice back has been growing much faster than the Arctic pack has been shrinking. Incidently at its nadir in 2013 the Arctic pack was 37% greater than in 2012 and now, in mid-winter it has grown to within two standard deviations of the 1981-2010 mean.
