Happy Earth Day

Happy Earth Day! Each April 22, Earth Day marks the anniversary of what many consider the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. The idea came to founder Gaylord Nelson, then a U.S. Senator from Wisconsin, after witnessing the aftermath of the horrific 1969 oil spill in Santa Barbara, California.

Check out what cartoonists think of the environmental holiday with our Earth Day cartoon slideshow.

A breath of fresh air reading any comment from someone left of center who realizes mistakes can and do happen regardless of good intent. Hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend.

Thanks and you too.

I believe in global warming, but I also despise the “green” movement in my state where voters approve anything and everything with a kneejerk reaction.
