Rush Limbaugh is a Big, Fat Idiot

Popular talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh is no stranger to controversy, and often says dumb things just to get people riled up. But on a recent show, Limbaugh exceeded his own standards and called out first lady Michelle Obama on her body and eating habits.

“I’m trying to say that our first lady does not project the image of women that you might see on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue or of a woman Alex Rodriguez might date every six months or what have you,” Limbaugh said Monday.

I guess Rush doesn’t have a mirror, or else he might have steered clear of commenting on the perceived healthiness of someone else. Luckily for us, we have political cartoonists to take his dopey comments and re-direct the fun his way.

My favorite so far might be this cartoon by Pat Bagley depicting The Maha Rushie as Jabba the Hutt, and his dittohead followers as a poor princess trapped by the powerful toad-eater.

Brilliant caricaturist Taylor Jones got in on the act as well, depicting a scene no one on this Earth ever wanted to witness: Rush in a bikini.

Not surprisingly, Sarah Palin has gotten in on the nutrition-bashing act as well. Here Nate Beeler puts her silly and hyper-partisan comments into the proper perspective.

Right. Did he say anything like that about Barbara or Laura Bush? I’m sure he said some pretty disgusting things about Hillary.

Consider my use of quotation marks, Tom. I did not write that Rush called Hillary “disgusting,” I wrote “I’m sure he said some pretty disgusting things about Hillary.”
Remedial English.

That cartoon with Sarah Palin and Benjamin Franklin is one of the dumbest cartoons that I have seen in a long time. There is no comparison between a private citizen advocating health advice or even a politician simply advocating health advice vs a law or set of laws that dictates what foods and other items that a person is permitted to consume and how much of those foods and other items that a person is permitted to consume.

If I was to advocate that having orange juice or another fruit juice of 16 oz per day improves your quality of live, it affects no one’s liberty. Same applies if even President Obama went on national TV and just advocated that. But if President Obama actually seeks laws forcing us to consume 16 oz of fruit juice every day, that would massively impair upon my and everyone else’s liberty.

David, Then I assume you are ok with Mrs. Obama’s campaign to fight childhood obesity? She is not instituting legislation, she’s just suggesting that people eat healthy and exercise more. To Rush this is apparently the nanny state.

Oh my God Michelle Obama is not a super model. Well dah the woman is 40 something. Supermodels generally have about a ten day carrer. For a woman her age she isn’t to bad. I am guessing that if she suddenly became single more than a few men and some women would be giving her a call

Thank goodness that Michelle O is more like my idea of the ideal type of woman. Real, well read (unlike the idiot from Alaska), athletic and concerned about children. Most women I see on Sports Illustrated are the type of women Rush and his ilk like: curvy stupid non-speaking objects to use and then set aside. It’s frightening to see that there are still males out there who can’t appreciate a real woman and not a flesh doll they only want to play with…

Rush, keep your sticky magazines and step aside for real women to make contributions to our society!

My Problem with Rush Limbaugh and his buddies is that the kind of cartoons depicted above probably just delight them. “I don’t care what you say about me, just spell my name right”.

I don’t think for a minute that they actually believe the stuff they say, they’re being paid millions of dollars to do what they do – and they’re good at it.

It doesn’t seem to bother them that they’re tearing our country apart by demonizing and ridiculing a large segment of our society. They sell product for their advertisers.

The last I heard, Rush was worth about a billion dollars. The big money is on the political right – so that’s where Rush lives.

No he didnt, because they didnt come out and tell you what or how much to eat and then dont follow your own advice, part of the do as I say, not as I do crowd. This recent dinner they refused to allow the menu to be public info, you have to ask why

Well that idiot from Illinois has never had a job, never had to make payroll and now will be on the government dole the rest of our lives.

Who said anything about forcing anyone to consume anything???? As near as I can tell, the push is to increase awarness of nutrition, replace sugary drinks with healthier alternatives in a lot of situations and possibly levy an increased tax on related beveraages and foods. It isn’t a new idea, and we have seen it on alcohol and tobacco. So why get so offended because this particular First Lady backs the concept??

Limbaugh calling Michelle Obama fat has to be one of the most ridiculous things that boob has ever said, though he presents a pretty fertile crop to pick from. Palin almost matches the ridiculousness by complaining about the First Lady saying it’s a good thing to eat healthy and be more active. Most Americans would probably see that as common sense, but not Sarah!

Yes, it certainly is irritating to have other people pass laws telling you what you can and can’t do with your own body, isn’t it? Eat healthy foods, exercise, don’t smoke, DON’T HAVE AN ABORTION! Just depends on who’s telling you, doesn’t it? Republicans have got to be the most hypocritical folks on the face of the earth.

The problem isn’t just that the First Lady is telling kids that they need to eat healthy. Its a very typical ‘do as I say, not as I do’ way of our current administration. I’m sure you’ve seen the menus of a typical WH state dinner. Its ridiculous of the first lady to go around telling others what they should be eating, as she (quite obviously) is consuming these dinners.
I think a first lady’s appearance is completely off limits to commentary… UNTIL that point where she starts telling me what I should be eating….

Laura Bush promoted reading and literacy. Horrors! Books don’t have advertising like teevee and the internet. Gollly, if kids actually started reading they might start thinking, and if they started thinking, they’d realize just what idiots Limbaugh and his wingnut followers are.

Wow, didn’t know another person was part of “your own body.” See, the really simple way to settle this argument and expose the stupidity of those who support abortion, is to run a DNA test on the aborted fetus. Guess what? It actually has its own DNA -it is ANOTHER PERSON’S BODY, not a part of the mother’s body like an appendix, gall bladder, etc. Speaking of doctors, you need to go see one for your case of cranial rectal inversion.

Come on, guys, First Ladies always pick something to espouse. With the entire country going to fat, exercise and good nutrition are a good choice for the current First Lady’s “thing”. The War on Drugs got “Just Say No”. Someone needs to be stepping up for better nutrition and more exercise.

So Michelle Obama isn’t so skinny she could be blown away by a decent breeze. She’s good-looking, intelligent, and well-spoken. Personally, I don’t like her style of clothes. I think she seems out to pick the ugliest thing in the store every single time, but that’s not terribly important.

Good nutrition and exercise won’t create an anorexic, which is what those poor models usually are.

Rush Limbaugh is fat, gross, and stupid. Who cares what he says? He doesn’t have enough brains to think.

Yeh, let’s run that DNA test & you better be counting all of your ejactulated sperm cause they are potential persons and will have their own DNA. DA!

OOO, have you sunk to Mr. Limbaughs level? Anyway, it is evident, especially from the profile, that Ms. Obama is an insectoid. Perhaps a sleeper created from an ant species trying to take over the world with humanoid like agents.

Seems to me that picking on Limbaugh’s weight is missing the point. The cartoon about Ben Franklin has no parallel with Michelle Obama at all, unless Franklin was MANDATING that you eat an apple a day.

When they completely restructure the content of school lunches (they’ve already started that), take away salt from foods, mandate a certain amount of exercise daily, etc., while MO continues to belly up to the rib table, let’s see what all the Limbaugh attackers say then. How much do you people like the “do as I say, not as I do” approach?

The Jabba visual is spot on. It is also just like Limbaugh to think that women in American aspire to being the models on magazine covers. Michelle Obama is
a Princeton graduate, an executive in her own right and is totally on the right track concerning nutrition in America. Where is Rush? It is really too bad that the media gives him and Sarah Palin any exposure at all.

The way to make Rush lose weight is: STOP LISTENING TO HIS RADIO PROGRAM! hIS WEIGHT WILL DROP AS HIS RATINGS DROP!…. IF YOU LISTEN TO HIM YOU MUST BE AN IDIOT!!!!! Bob.

@abford;
Please show us where/how the government has “revamped” our diets or where we were “ordered” to do anything.

The sad part of it is there are people in this country that 1) listen to him and 2) make him popular. Then again they will be same people who would vote for Sarah Palin. And you wonder why the US is declining in world literacy rates and competitiveness.

As for Michelle Obama who cares the lady went to Princeton and Harvard. She alone has more brains the the previous administration’s entire brain trust (leaving Condie Rice out of it)

Mr. Strangelove.
Michelle Obama was not chowing down on ribs the way Rushidiot proclaimed.
She had short ribs with a side of kale..get your facts straight..if you want to raise unhealthy little strangeloves on fast food..go right ahead it is a free country.

Mr. Strangelove.

I have heard of a lot of ignorant rants against the Obama’s but going after Michelle because she suggests our kids should eat healthy food has to be a classic.
Michelle does eat healthy, a small order of short ribs with a side of kale is not the same picture Rush wants people to see.
If people choose to have Rush as their idea of a healthy body, hey it’s a free world, nobody is stopping them.

the problem is, that he is not stupid and but influences stupid people and he is not the only one

Strangelove implies there is no obesity problem in America — they really are just body builders or have genetically wide hips? (Strange-love is an excellent name for this stupidity.)

Llet’s take Strange’s comments to their logical conclusions…

The epidemic of overweight kids is nothing to worry about. These parents are _not_ ignorant about nutrition and exercise — the doctors have it all wrong… Parents are _CHOOSING_ to give their children early-onset diabetes and create the first generation in centuries to die earlier than their parents. And even those parents who aren’t nutrition experts don’t want advice from the _government_!

How DARE the government – or any agency – insult parents’ intelligence by offering free advice? If my child is morbidly obese and suffering mental, physical and medical consequences because of it, that is my business — I don’t need or want any damn “information”! This would imply that I might be doing something ‘wrong’ in raising my 250lb son – and that can’t possibly be true. EVERY parent is a medical, phycological, fitness and nutritional EXPERT. Why doesn’t the government accept this?

This ‘health & fitness’ conspiracy is getting worse every year. First they started encouraging physical fitness for children. Now it’s healthy eating. WHAT’S NEXT!? These government conspiracies have to stop. It’s time to get the _liberal_ phys-ed classes out of schools.

Let’s also fire all the nutritional experts – including those donating their time – that are trying to improve school lunches. OUTRAGEOUS! If my son or daughter want to live on french fries and Coke, that is because this is what their parents WANT them to do. How dare schools try to get kids to eat healthy!?

Brainwashing children to east healthy and be fit is the first step to SOCIALISM. Next they will be marching in columns shouting Heil Hitler! I much prefer that my child to be a morbidly obese, sickly American rather than a slim, healthy long-lived COMMUNIST!

STOP THE GOVERNMENT TAKE-OVER OF HEALTH INFORMATION!!!!!!!!!!

And what was your info source that “they refused to allow the menu to be public info” ???

It’s a pretty sorry day for our Beloved Nation when the talking heads have to rely upon WH menu releases as a resource for their divisive agenda.

GET A LIFE GOOBER!!! Step away from the divisive Whackos – they’re sucking out your brain!!!!

Another day another hypocritical act by the “Squatters” in the White House…not surprising since the “do as I say not as I do” bs they spout.

prlampkin –

If your “news diet” consisted of the Faux News Channel and the ilk of Limbaugh, Beck & Palin, you’d believe all the loads of CRAP they spew like the government has “revamped” and “ordered” us what to eat – like this obvious GOOBER believes.

To Strangelove: After Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot, people on both sides of the aisle called for a return to civility towards each other. Obviously and quite sadly, you never heard that admonition or were busy spewing your hatred and bigotry to the idiots who love that sort of trash!

But don’t you see that Michelle has the grotesque deformity of “breeder hips”. Women with this revolting genetic defect should have their bones shaved down. Well she’s at it, why not get her nose shrunk, her forehead smoothed, her lips pumped up, and the bones in her feet reshaped to fit in the latest super-skinny high-heel.

Unless Michelle Obama looks like a 20 year-old supermodel, how can we take anything she says about health seriously? After all, most American girls/women look like a supermodels – right? So how could a healthy Amazon of a woman possibly be a spokesperson for health?

Just because she is a mother, a highly educated honors student, has a history of community work including daycare, she thinks she has the _right_ to promote feeding the poor and help promote healthy eating to fight America’s #1 health problem, childhood obesity. WHO DOES SHE THINK SHE IS!? The first-lady or something?

It the right feel that Mrs. Obama’s advise on diet is an infringement on their rights, let them be. They can slowly kill themselves with diabetes, heart disease and all the other trappings that come with obesity. Of course, treatment for these ailments will be out of the question since access to afordable healthcare will have been choked off by their ilk.

Michelle Obama is an easy target. If she were “model thin”, she would have been the subject of ridicule for promoting an unhealthy body image and eating disorders. What is she would have chosen a platform that prevented perscription drug abuse? What would the former oxycontin addicted blow hard have to say? Unfortunately, that pot will continue to call the kettle “black”.

It is time to stop the First Ladies from insulting American families. This has been going on for too long…

Nancy Reagan has the GALL imply that American Families were too stupid to control their kids. She had the GALL to claim drug and alcohol abuse by children was a problem! (“Just Say No”). What an insult! Who is she to tell MY family what they should and should not do?

Barbara Bush was even worse – claiming some Americans are illiterate and that parents don’t know how to raise their kids. Her campaign to increase literacy was a slap in the face to all Americans.

Laura Bush took this insult to an even higher level – promoting “reading” for children. How dare she imply that parents were _incapable_ of teaching their children to read!

As if this wasn’t bad enough, Laura also promoted women’s health by focussing on problems like heart disease and breast cancer. WHAT NERVE! Who is _she_ to offer tell women what to do? It’s an insult to my intelligence.

We must stop these First Ladies before they destroy America. Otherwise George Orwell’s 1984 will come true, and the government will be running every aspect of our lives. Next they will be telling us to quit smoking!

If I want my teenage daughter to be semi-literate, morbidly obese, drug-addicted, alcoholic and pregnant – THAT IS MY CHOICE. I don’t need no damn “i-n-f-o-r-m-a-t-i-o-n” that implies I don’t know everything and may not be a TV-perfect parent. That’s “socialism”!

Yeah! Those bloody medical doctors don’t know what they are talking about.

So where you you practice medicine Strangelove? You sound like you’ve done extensive research on health and obesity, so I’d like to be your patient. Not that I need any advice or anything – I just want a doctor as ‘educated’ as I am and that won’t call my 200lb son “obese” – that is just stupid!

Bigot alert? You didn’t see where MO was eating ribs last week? Was in the news, butthead. BTW, what kind of bigot votes for someone for President based not on any past performance but because of skin color?

Let’s not talk about Limbaugh anymore. He doesn’t deserve it. He loves to be in the spotlight by saying stupid things like this.

The race card’s been overplayed, and the public is getting tired of it. Just thought you’d like to know.

Rush is fat, does drugs, smokes, and will probable drop dead real soon. So with that said, what does a billion dollars do for him except make him the richest person (body) in the cementery. Then again, when was the last time you saw a u-haul back up to a cemetery and drop a load of cash in a hole.?

John, if you think one cannot eat a well balanced, reasonably sized meal from a menu filled with high quality fresh food, then you clearly know NOTHING about how to eat healthy.

It seems YOU are one of people who desperately need education on nutrition. Your obvious ignorance on the subject illustrates just how misinformed many people are, and is an excellent advertisement for the kind of awareness and information Michelle is promoting. If you are a father, I’m sure you want to teach your children how to be healthy – don’t you?

So I suggest you do some research. You will be delighted to find that you can eat *almost anything you want* – as long as it is in the proper proportions and the quantity is appropriate for your age, size and health situation.

Meats of all kinds – including “ribs” – are an excellent source of protein and vitamins, hence part of a healthy diet — IF they are not chopped-and-formed, super-sized, smothered in a sauce of sugar and fat, accompanied by a pound of french-fries, and washed down with a 24oz Coke! But even at McDonalds you can eat a _reasonably_ healthy meal – if you are educated what to look for.

Guess what! The DNA of a child is the “combination” of DNA from the mother and father – ie, “their bodies”. This is why all family members can be connected by checking their DNA. They can even match parts of your daughter’s DNA to her great-great-great-(x1000)-grandmother. If she was “all new”, this would not be possible.

By the way, when you get a tumor, it also does not have your DNA – it has the DNA of the cancer. In this case, it truly is a foreign body, since it’s DNA was not “created” from your own. Yet I doubt you will find any doctors who will say the cancer is not “part of your body”. If they did, then the state could _order_ what treatment you must have for cancer. I guess you must support that too?

You are welcome to your opinion on abortion rights, but your total ignorance on the science of genetics does not help your argument.

YEAH! Let’s eliminate school lunches all together. Why is the government in the business of feeding children anyway – that’s McDonalds’ job.

The last thing the government should be doing is “improving” anything – especially things that affect children or health. If something was badly planned years ago due to lack of foresight and knowledge, then it should stay that way FOREVER! This “revamping” of school food offerings is almost as bad as the revamping of regulation to eliminate acid rain that poisoned of the environment.

When will the government learn to STOP CHANGING THINGS!?

I like _everything_ exactly as it is – no matter how unhealthy it is.

Yet another person with no concept of what constitutes healthy eating. Are you under the impression that one must live on seaweed and yogurt to eat healthy?

You clearly need education on nutrition. I suggest you take advantage of the information being made available as part of Mrs Obama’s campaign. Start with the basics (eg, “meat is good”) and work your way up to more advanced topics.

If your children are as ignorant as you about what foods can be part of a balanced diet, then they are at unnecessary risk of obesity, sickness and an early death. If you care about this, I suggest you share your new knowledge with them.

Abford… some people beg for incivility by there inane remarks. You, along with your obese buddy Rush, are among them.

Abford… some people beg for incivility by there inane remarks. You, along with your obese buddy Rush, are among them. Idiocy alert! Idiocy alert!

Sort of like Reagan anointing catsup as a vegetable serving in a school lunch…. Your memory is about as long as….

No, I don’t think he did say those types of things about Barbara or Laura. But then, neither Barb or Laura went on and on and on about eating healthy.
Or pushing for a bill that keeps sugary foods out of school.

If you do that type of food-nazi behavior, I will make fun of your weight as soon as you top the ‘healthy’ weight.

The government revamping doesn’t happen all at once. Liberty is lost a little here, a little there and is done under the guise of something being “for our good”.

Well, actually… its NOT a free country.
The first lady pushed for bills to pull all ‘unhealthy’ food out of schools… including ‘occasional’ fund raisers.
Now how is that okay? Particularly, if the first family is eating massive WH dinners?

bird-lover,
I’ve been watching the coverage in Wisconsin for at least a week now.
Is that civility? really?
Honest?

Catsend,
And just as if Nancy Reagan was seen with a needle in her arm, you might call her a little bit of a stoned hypocrit.

In this case, Michelle is clearly saying one thing while doing another.
I don’t mind Jillian or Bob telling me what to eat. They clearly eat and exercise as they say I should.
We already know that the first lady does not.

“The last thing the government should be doing is “improving” anything – especially things that affect children or health.”

Kevin,
Do you understand any of the irony of what you’re saying?
The very reason that so many poor kids are fat is because of ‘nutrition’ programs of our dept. of agriculture. You know that right? That when they did studies of feeding kids in school, we found out that those ‘free’ meals we were feeding them were ridiculously high in calories?
(Side note: in HS, one of the ‘poor’ kids I knew always gave me his breakfast tickets)
Heck, that’s why, as part of the program, Michelle is insisting that we feed kids dinner too. Except now, the government says they will be ‘healthy’ ones. Only… they have to make sure that no one else in the school eats ‘unhealthy’.
So once again, our government is going to try to correct the mistake that they created!
Neat. That.

“much prefer that my child to be a morbidly obese, sickly American rather than a slim, healthy long-lived COMMUNIST!”

Not too ironically, I’m pretty sure you’d rather your kid be a slim communist…

Wait… why is it cool for you to call a hypothetical kid obese, but not cool for Rush to call the first lady, the one calling for everyone to eat healthier, chunky?

Yes, Laura Bush pushed reading. And Nancy Reagan tried to get kids to ‘just say no’ to drugs.
And if Laura Bush didn’t read, or if Nancy Reagan was seen with crack pipe in hand, you’d call them a hypocrit… wouldn’t you?
Given that the first lady is PUSHING LAWS, not suggesting, BUT PUSHING LAWS regarding nutrition… shouldn’t I be able to call her chunky if I see the WH menu from all of the parties and notice that she’s not as thin as she used to be?

Abford please anwer these questions. Are you obese it? Are you aware of what obesity does to a young persons body and how can decrease thier quality of life? Or, are you high on your buddies drug of choice(Oxycotin)?

Sounds like any All-American Super Bowl Party menu like every one I’ve ever been to – but to imply that the food served at a PARTY (read my lips – P-A-R-T-Y) validates our public schools serving comparable fare to growing children every day sounds like run-of-the-mill Right-wing Extremists’ logic.

Please allow me to observe once again,
“It’s a pretty sorry day for our Beloved Nation when the talking heads have to rely upon WH menu releases as a resource for their divisive agenda.

GET A LIFE GOOBER!!! Step away from the divisive Whackos – they’re sucking out your brain!!!!”

The Middle East is undergoing the most violent upheaval in our lifetime, and you Goobers are hell-bent upon divisive rants re: WH menus. Once again, GET A LIFE GOOBER!!

Yes, I agree — anyone who voted for Obama for no other reason than that he was black IS guilty of stupidity, Ben. AND bigotry. Big of you to admit it.

He’s a leftist, ergo you are ignorant. Don’t you know that by now? (Insert eye-rolling emoticon here.)

And I am an idiot because — OH, YEAH — because I don’t agree with you, and leftists are ALWAYS brilliant! I GET IT NOW!

Yep. Its that whole line of ‘logic’ that if you disagree with the administration… you must not be able to read. Or something.
And you certainly can’t point out their hypocrisy.

How long is YOUR memory, Rocky? Didja know that the Clinton administration proposed counting salsa as a vegetable? Look it up, Mr. Smug, lol.

it is, it is. just give it time. i personally wonder how he & his ilk (hey i like the word!) can walk around on one leg; the other foot jammed so firmly in the mouth.

A hypocrite.
One who says one thing, while doing another.
A woman who pushes to get all of fast food/”bad” food out of schools, while clearly having one WH dinner after another with “bad” foods, as I’ve listed on several posts here.

Some people here have called it hypocrisy for Rush to suggest that Michelle is chunky.
I think its complete hypocrisy to pass for laws on what can be served in school while having lavish dinners of those same ‘bad’ foods.
Particularly if her body is showing signs of it.

As I’ve pointed out before… its one thing for Nancy Reagan to say ‘just say no’ to drugs. But as soon as you see her with a crack pipe in her mouth… she is a hypocrite.

Michelle, clearly, is being a food hypocrite.

Hey John –

It still boggles my mind that any reasonably intelligent person would spend valuable time typing out a WH menu, as if there’s nothing more important in which to to invest their energy.

Re: loss of civility from the Left – you Righties better get used to “push-back” from the Left. When the Rightie “talking heads'” response to some certifiable lunatic taking the less-than-subtle Right-wing maniacal suggestions to “target” Democrats such as Gabby Giffords, was abject denial of complicity in the Limbaugh/Beck/Palin driven loss of civility and the subsequent results thereof, we Lefties know how to follow suit – and we will – GET USED TO IT!! Don’t think for a heartbeat that Righties are the only advocates of the Second Amendment. You’d better know that there’s an awful large number of Lefties who are ready, willing and quite able to defend our Beloved Nation from Right-wing Extremists’ takeover.

You Goobers wanna play “uncivil”? Tee up!! Game on!!

XOXOXO
Ben

What are you talking about?? She works out everyday and Short Ribs with Kale as a side dish is very healthy..
I don’t think she can do anything to satisfy the racists..

I wish they would have done that when my kids were in school and I wouldn’t have had to make their lunch everyday.

Buncha crap. If “the idiot from Alaska” was a leftist you’d be having an orgasm just thinking about her, and you know it. If she were a conservative who made it on her own instead of by affirmative action you wouldn’t be telling us how brilliant she was. Ideology trumps all for you buncha numbnuts.

How long have they been talking about taxes on fast foods? You think it ain’t gonna happen? LOL, just wait.

If you would quit watching F News..you would know that Michelle Obama is not telling people what they “HAVE” to eat, she is “SUGGESTING” healthier foods.
I have heard stupid arguments before , but chastising The First Lady because she wants to help families be healthy is above and beyond ignorant..

And you got “racists” out of people pointing out her hypocritical food choice because…

OH, THAT’S RIGHT — it’s all you people have!

Strangelove Ol’ Buddy –

It looks like Limbaugh’s drug-addled paranoid brain has infected you. Both of you create non-existent conditions inside your own brains and then do battle with your made-up, non-existent fantasies. What an entertaining HOOT you Kool-Aid drinking Fringie Robots are!!

Strangelove – step away from the Whackos!!

BTW: unlike First Lady Michelle Obama, (who doesn’t look too bad for a lady her age) Rush Limbaugh is a FATTIE by anybody’s criteria.

Put down your sticky-page girly magazine and start talking sense for a change!! (Or is “sense” above your pay grade?)

The “idiot from Alaska” can’t even make it through a simple four (4) year term as Governor, either with or witout Affirmative Action.

Hey Goober –

Repeat after me:

Insults beget insults!!
Incivility begets incivility!!
Disrespect begets disrespect!!

You Righties name the card game and us Lefties will “follow suit” every time – GET USED TO IT!!

Your drug-addled mentors (Limbaugh, Beck et al.) have opened a can of worms that they won’t be able to close. I predict that the counterpart of what happened to Gabby Giffords will happen to one of the Right-wing Extremists before the year is out. Their M.O. of insults, incivility and disrespect will eventually result in one or more of your mentors getting bit by the dog that “barks over here and bites over there”. I hope I’m wrong, but we’ll see.

I presume you Righties are familiar with the saying “He, who lives by the sword . . .”

What happened to liberal radio commentators? I mean besides NPR which is supported by our tax dollars. You can refrain from listening to Rush but taxes are not what keep him and others on the air. And a foot jammed in the mouth beats a head in a dark place.

So in other words, regardless of Giffords being shot by a nut without the brains to think about any ideology, as evidenced by his incoherent writing, you’re holding to the kneejerk Paul Krugman school of thought that it just had to be caused by them thar rednecked mean an’ evil Tea Party members.

“Goober” isn’t even an insult. It’s just stupid. BTW, you wouldn’t be threatening me with a sword, would you? INCIVILITY ALERT!

Nonsense. I normally eat a very healthy diet and preach it, too. That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy some occasional pizza, a machaca burrito or nice slab of prime rib once in a while. Especially since I burn about a thousand calories a day on a bicycle and a work out. That does not make me a hypocrite any more than it does her. Eating healthy doesn’t perpetual avoidance of stuff that makes your mouth water.

PS. I also love me some red wine, cognac and single malts-and a GOOD beer, meaning no bud.

Oddly enough, This thread is funny. You dont have to be a stick thin model to call out someone elses failings in the model department. At no time has Rush ever said he was the perfect size for “the swimsuit edition of any magazine. ” He also is not walking around telling others how to eat. and spouting about how the govt should ban this food or that one because its not good for us. Michele “my belle” Obama is doing this.
If your going to teach us how to eat, then be the poster child for that habit.

The rest of you who try to make everything either right or left, get a clue. politics is NOT the end all of life.

No dear Abford..racist is because all the Obama haters assume she is chowing down on BBQ Ribs ….without checking out the facts.
Her short ribs and Kale was a very healthy choice.

Abford 129 Ol’ Buddy –

With every post, you have me more and more convinced of your Right-wing Robotic behavior – just like Limbaugh, (who has obviously sucked your brains out)you take another’s statement and freely re-write what fits your “reality-de-jour”.

For entertainment value, Google “Limbaugh and psychopath” and you’ll see that it takes merely 0.25 seconds to yield 869,000 results – and you and your Robotic Ilk treat this drug-addled, raving Looney-Tunes psychopath like he’s a “modern day prophet”.

Re: your statement “. . . predicting that leftists will attempt to kill “righties,”, once again (for the benefit of your evident ADHD-limited retention of what you read), I’ll repeat myself (please read it very, very s-l-o-w-l-y),

“I hope I’m wrong, but we’ll see.”

Geez, you guys are so very, VERY entertaining!!

Actually read quite a bit. Just not the diatribes geoffie puts out. Have you read “The Roots of Obama’s Rage”? A pretty good read.

Michelle is a hypocrite because she lobbied for a BAN on all foods that she deemed unhealthy in schools.
You have no such power… that I know of.

However, if you preach against eating unhealthy, and you occasionally eat unhealthy, you are a hypocrite. You’re just one who justifies his own personal hypocrisy.

gigimn,
I’m posted enough WH menus on here for you to see that she serves her guests far, far, far, different food then what she demands that schools serve.
That’s what makes her a hypocrite.. and, not too ironically, the ONLY reason that I’m okay with ANYONE making light of her weight.
Pointing out hypocrisy should never have a color.

Holy shit, are you kidding?
You do know that in the past year, New York actually outlawed transfat oils?

So… you’re okay with this loss of liberty, because you’re too lazy to make food for your kids.

That’s fine.
However, the first lady is still a first class hypocrit.

This is what I love about fascist thinking:
People pass laws restricting freedom… but the fascists always justify it away with the ‘you can always…’

What you can’t do anymore is argue that Michelle isn’t being hypocritical.

Ben,
I know it kinda drives you nuts that the WH has been PROVEN to be hypocrites. But considering that Michelle makes such a big deal out of healthy eating, and pushed for legislation which banned ‘unhealthy’ foods from schools… its not too surprising that the AP and other news stations keep printing the menus full of bad food.

RE: civility
You have it all wrong. Read my quote:
“Why can’t the left stop being uncivil?”

The left has always been uncivil.
Its nothing new.
It doesn’t surprise me at all that you call people names… because you’re on the left, and you just can’t seem to admit when you’re wrong.

“Are you obese it?”

Whether he is or not, it doesn’t change the fact that the first lady is being a hypocrite. How do you not get that?

Sadly, we all have jobs and are too busy working to sit around listening to the radio during the middle of the day like Dittoheads do.

So what does “game on!” mean, right after you talk about what great 2nd amendment defenders leftists are? Chess? Checkers? Look up ”equivocate” and “rationalize”, dorkburger, lol, which is at LEAST as good an insult as “goober,” lol.

Neat. A “bash Bush” site. I’ve got a lot of links to sites about Al Gore, John Kerry, and your favorite community organizer — would you like a few?

Was it really laws that the first lady was trying to pass? Get me the facts on that. Obesity is on the rise, diabetes is on the rise, especially in economic groups that cannot afford the cost of decent care to manage those diseases properly. So we do nothing, say nothing, and then we all pay for a country getting fatter. I am a diabetic, brought on by a severe illness not obesity, and know the enormous costs to maintain good health associated with diabetes care. I wouldn’t wish this on anybody and if the First Lady can get people to do things that would PREVENT the growing number of cases of diabetes in this country – then go for it Michelle!

“Put down your sticky-page girly magazine and start talking sense for a change!! (Or is “sense” above your pay grade?)”

Since we’re into looking things up today, Ben, look up “projection.”

Eating healthy doesn’t mean living perpetually on the Pritiken Diet.
You can eat just about anything once in a while in moderation. That
includes things like Fetuccini Alfredo, linguini in clam sauce and
even pateThere is nothing hypocritical about it at all, unless you’re
advocating vegetarianism between bites of your Whopper. You are
absurdly mistaken when you say she wanted to ban things SHE thought
were unhealthy, since she was suggesting that school menus follow
accepted nutritional experts guidelines, eliminating things like over
sweetened sodas, over processed chips and snack foods(which I do
avoid rather assiduously), donuts and candy bars(which I do eat, but
of the very dark chocolate variety). Insisting that school lunches
contain the proper balance protein, vitamins, fiber and lower fat and
sodium levels is merely good sense. We have children who are
overweight, showing signs of hypertension and even heart disease. She
never even came close to calling for a ban on all foods, since
students can bring whatever they wish to consume at lunch with them
in their back packs. She confined her guidelines, which is what they
were since what she advises has no legal or statutory standing, to
what schools were offering kids. To say that she wanted to ban them
is ridiculous. For the most part, schools, students, teachers and
parents are far and away quite happy with healthier offerings. They
taste better, they taste cleaner and students recognize eventually
how much better they feel eating that way. My grandson is a vivid
case in point. The school even has pizza, with low fat cheese and
healthy toppings. They have Mac and Cheese (lower fat and sodium).
They have hamburgers made with low fat ground beef. They have chili.
A lot of districts are also offering vegetarian alternatives to those
whose parents are vegges, or who prefer it for themselves. You,
especially, would be surprised at how many young people are.

Retired Catholic,
That was a heck of a lot of waxing poetically about what constitutes a healthy diet while completely ignoring that Michelle is being a hypocrite.
She didn’t request that schools encourage kids to ‘only occasionally’ eat ‘unhealthy.’

“The legislation, part of first lady Michelle Obama’s campaign to stem childhood obesity, provides more meals at school for needy kids, including dinner, and directs the Agriculture Department to write guidelines to make those meals healthier. The legislation would apply to all foods sold in schools during regular class hours, including in the cafeteria line, vending machines and at fundraisers.”

Again, this is from the same WH that is serving ‘bad’ food at their state dinners.
That is hypocrisy. It might be hypocrisy that you like… but its still hypocrisy.

You would have us believe that Michelle has no part in setting the meals in her own house… just in schools everywhere. That somehow, despite her unworldly diet and continuous exercise, Michelle is gaining weight?

Is Laura Bush a hypocrite? The main-stream media always told us how much Mrs. Bush wants our children to read classics. Can any of you conservative sheep prove that EVERYTHING she has ever read is considered a classic?

Why is OK for conservatives to be hypocrites, but not liberals. Isn’t that the ultimate in hypocrisy? I am getting so sick of conservatives telling us that they are better than the rest of us!

The arguments start off sensible and somewhat logical and then they get ridiculous. Why do people play into the mass hysteria of entertainment? Are we all that brain dead? Rush must continue to make ignorant comments to remain relevant.

Of course, she most likely would not be on the cover of sports illustrated because one can count the women of color honoring the cover of SI on one hand, and not without many complaints and subscription cancellations. In addition, as previously stated the women are ridiculously thin to the point of speculation of an eating disorder. Wafer thin is the image this country portrays as beautiful, though in reality most women and girls do not fit this mold assisting in the large rate of women and girls with poor self-image resulting in low self-esteem, depression, and eating disorders.

For the record, Michelle Obama is not fat, nor chunky. But rather she is healthy, not too thin and not too thick. Some will even say she is P.H.A.T. In fact, her body type and weight is preferred amongst those of her ethnic community. If Rush wants to say anything about the first lady, say she has a PHAT butt. No one would disagree, would be taken as a compliment, because who else but older white northern men would like a woman with a flat butt. I am from the north, but live in the south and it seems most white women have big butts too and the white men here love it, especially the young ones.

Why is that the right makes huge partisan issue out of things that have existed for a long time to serve their political purposes? Ag Department has been writing guidelines for lunch programs for as long as I can remember. The bill, that passed the Senate with unanimous consent, seventeen House Republicans broke ranks to support the bill, does not ban bake sales. I wanted someone to provide the link to the bill that outright banned bake sales, or other foods at schools, as reported by Fox News, and by you above.

It is not too impressive to label Rush Limbaugh a “Big, Fat, Idiot.” For one thing, although Rush is big sideways (because of the obvious fat), he is not all that tall. Sort of a pumpkin, or squash, figure of a person. Rush is quite weathy, a self-made man. To label him an “idiot” tends to beg the question as to the intellectual capacity of the describer, not Rush.

Rush is immature, but clever. He has mastered the art of becoming wealthy, of acquiring money, goods, and women. All the stuff that nearly all of us thirsted forfrom our teenage years.

What he seems to lack is the appreciation is that when he is dead, he can not take any of it with him. Certainly, in any real sense, he is no Christian…not someone using this life to prepare for an eternity based on deeds. Furthermore, he exhibits little or no concern for the welfare of others as atheists are wont to do, a reasonable attitude for those who do not subscribe to an afterlife. We are left with a clever immature person. Given his age, the odds are against his ever growing up. Nothing less that a really traumatic experience is likely to have much effect.

Of course… all of this misses the real point that you continue to ignore.
The First Lady was being a hypocrite.

You just have a problem with the fact she’s a woman of color…What’s your view on the “birther” issue? Step away from the teapot…..

You just have a problem with the fact she’s a woman of color…What’s your view on the “birther” issue? Step away from the teapot…..

Abford128-1/2 Ol’ Buddy –

The timing of your 3:27 a.m. Sunday morning post reveals several things about you, including, but not limited to:
(a) If you’re married, you and your mate don’t communicate very well;
(b) If you’re married, your sex life is non-existent;
(c) If you’re single, you either didn’t go out, or else “struck out” on a Saturday night;
(d) You may be suffering from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and may want to seek Professional Assistance;
(e) You really ought to get a (real) life and only use your computer for ocassional entertainment instead of as a substitute for living.

So you have never read Al Franken’s book “Rush Limbaugh Is A Big Fat Idiot” — it documents the sleeze of a professional idiot.

I think Al Franken would agree that you are a big fat idiot, to quote his book title, and probably a melanin determinist, too, like Rush.

Again with the race card. Where are you guys getting that from pointing out MO’s hypocrisy in food choice? Is that all you’ve got?

So apparently you’re not going to answer the 2nd Amendment/Game on! question. You just go right ahead and keep on thumping your little hollow chest, lol.

I think you might find that book in the bargain bin at your local supermarket. Unless they gave up and turned it into shopping bags.

What I say is what I say and it speaks loudly/clearly for itself.

If/when you treasonist “Rush Limpball Robotrons” decide that you want to “take it to the streets”, know very well that there will be plenty of Lefty Advocates of 2nd Amendment Rights to greet you and your unpatriotic ilk and I will be front & center!!! Once again – read my lips – bring it on Goober!!

Unlike you and your Faux News mentors, we Lefties LOVE our Beloved Nation and are trying to re-build it after the 8 year failed Conservative Policy experiment a/k/a the Bush/Cheney Administration, instead of further tear it down like you IDIOTS are every single day. By every measuring stick, our calm, black, duly-elected President is succeeding in his efforts and all Faux News. Limpballs, Beck, et al. can do is spread distortions of the truth, deceptive half-truths and outright lies in their assaults upon him.

Your false prophets are nothing more than mongers of fear and hate and they have succeeded in tearing our Beloved Nation apart. You and I are living examples of their M.O. (But Rush Limpballs needs a bigger yacht, so it’s so worth it!!)

Get a life Goober!!

“Michelle is a hypocrite because she lobbied for a BAN on all foods that she deemed unhealthy in schools.”

Still looking for the link to the legislation that put a “BAN” on all foods deemed unhealthy by Michelle Obama. You said ReitredCatholic didn’t have that power – I don’t think Michelle Obama does either.

“for an eternity based on deeds”? read your bible. You cannot get to heaven based on your deeds or works.

Old Testament or New Testament? I prefer deeds to words that often are merely parroted platitudes. I suggest that you read the entire bible with better understanding. By the way, Yale University gives a fascinating course on the early Christians and the New Testabment on line, free.

how come folks keep mollycoddling “Condie” like she’s some innocent lamb just trying to do some good? She, of course, isn’t stupid but neither is Mr. Chaney. I think one of the major issues that those on the left overlook about why the right is carrying the bulwarks today is that it just reviles them (them being the groundswell of Americans – including those us intelligentsia like to dismiss as tea-baggers – who are willing to smash existing social structures in order to effect the changes they think are needed) that so many in power today – in America and elsewhere – think that IQ levels are a sign of superiority or inferiority.

Most people, and I like to think of myself in this group even tho I do also believe in the so-called leftist thinking, believe that being more intelligent, in the artificial way we tend to define intelligence, is only good if you can do something with it that helps yourself to, first – stay out of the way, and, second – make life less annoying for someone else.

Ms. Rice was every bit as much a part of the problem as was W. I’m sure she thinks of herself as one who sacrificed much trying to do good – and I think so, too – but she didn’t accomplish anything worth bragging rights.

I mean, look a General Powell. He started down the same path as Ms. Rice but figured out he was carrying the wrong burden. It’s too bad he quit entirely, but it’s surely good that he quit carrying a message he didn’t believe in. Condie should have done so, too.

Anyway, please stop carving out niches for the adversary just because they are personally impressive.

Yes, Faith AND good works (one of the Reformation’s major issues.) But regardless, without the latter, the former is mere window dressing.

Glen, the pursuit and or attainment of wealth does not at all address the issue of “intelligence.” “Witty”, “slick”, “clever”, may very well describe the man. Now, it may be argued that few people without intelligence may have achieved the “art of becoming wealthy, of acquiring money, goods, and women” (interesting that you have included women in a list of inanimate goods–chattel, so to speak); the question might be how intelligent are the people who actually listen to him.
Perhaps the word might be not so much “idiot” as “pig.”

You all are sorta hung up on that black stuff, aren’t ya? He’s a human — isn’t that enough for you? Who’s the bigot again?

Avoiding the facts and accusing someone of being racist does not address the charge of hypocrisy.
Do you feel that Charlie Sheen should be in charge of a program to get kids off of drugs?
Do you feel that the first lady, while having lavish dinners in the WH, should be lobbying for only ‘healthy’ foods to be served in schools? Or does she look hypocritical?

Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. — C.S. Lewis
