The math just doesn’t work for Bernie Sanders who has essentially been eliminated from contention for the Democratic nomination – but Bernie will not go softly into that good night.
I draw my cartoons live online now – want to watch? It is nicer to watch on YouTube, in the video below, than watching live because you can watch at double speed. I really look like a genius when I draw at double speed. Catch me live on twitch.tv/darylcagle and you can chat, if you can stand to watch me draw slowly, in real time.
Cruz and Kasich have decided not to compete against each other so that they don’t split up the “stop-Trump” vote in the remaining states.
I think Trump gets a spray tan, and covers his eyes, making for little white areas around his eyes. I suppose he could have a farmers tan and wears sunglasses when he’s outside, but I lean towards the spray tan theory. I’ve gotten criticized by some readers who complain that I don’t draw Trump flesh tone orange enough. In fact, I’ve been using the same old flesh tone for Trump that I have been using for other characters in the cartoons. With this cartoon I made a change to Trump’s flesh tone. Should I stick with it? Is he orange enough? Should I go back to flesh tone normalcy with Trump?
Check out the video below to watch me draw this cartoon in real time.
in the next video I color the cartoon in Photoshop.
I got this great news this morning from my Iranian cartoonist buddy, Nik Kowsar and CRNI. From Nik:
Had a short chat with Mohammad Moghimi, Atena’s lawyer a few minutes ago.
He confirmed that the Appeals’ Court No.54 of the Province of Tehran’s Judiciary has reduced Atena’s sentence from 12 years and 9 months, to 18 months.
By his calculation, she should be free in 2-3 weeks.
She has been acquitted from charges of undermining national security, and her 3 year imprisonment for insulting the supreme leader has been suspended for 4 years.
The 9 month sentence of insulting the president, members of parliament and the guards of ward 2-A of Evin prison has changed to a monetary fine (not mentioned yet).
The 18 months prison for propaganda against the regime has been confirmed by the Appeal’s Court.
I have not been able to talk to Atena’s father yet, but I thanked the lawyer on CRNI’s behalf for his great work and devotion.
I think this is extremely important and I hope we could see Atena start a new and successful life.
Thanks again for all your support.
The news is public and feel free to use the information shared here for your respectable outlets.
I think Harriet Tubman was a good choice for the $20 bill. I drew her booting President Andrew Jackson out of his perch. This is really a local Nashville cartoon as Jackson is Nashville favorite son; his slave plantation, the “Hermitage” is an impressive local attraction. Some critics have complained that Jackson’s great legacy is the “trail of tears” where displaced native Americans were marched to reservations in Oklahoma as Jackson broke treaties with the “indians” and sent many to their deaths. The “trail of tears” ran very close to the Hermitage, and Jackson reportedly didn’t bother to walk outside to take a look. Critics thought a native American choice would have been better than Tubman, given Jackson’s history.

I color the cartoon in the live-stream video below.
President Obama has threatened to veto a bill that would allow 9-11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia for their support of the 9-11 terrorists and would make public 28 redacted pages from the 9-11 Commission report that likely implicates Saudi Arabia. This week Obama traveled to meet with Saudi King Salman, so I drew this.
I’d like to see the bill pass and I’d like to see what is on those 28, top secret pages in the 9-11 Commission Report. The Saudis have threatened to sell all of their hundreds of billions of dollars of assets in America if the bill passes. That’s fine with me.
Here’s the first of two videos of my live stream drawing this one.
In the second video, below, I finish up the drawing and color it in Photoshop as I chat with my live viewers. Come to Twitch.tv/darylcagle to follow me and be notified when I come online to draw the next streaming cartoon.
I have to agree with Donald Trump’s criticism of the Republican party rules. It has been interesting to hear the establishment Republican defense, from Paul Ryan, Reince Priebus and other flacks; I think that all of these arguments could just as appropriately come from the mouth of lil Kim Jong Un.

I color the cartoon in Photoshop in the video below …
I think Trump has good arguments about the undemocratic process of selecting delegates to the Republican convention. The responses defending the system, noted in my cartoon below, miss the point that voters are disenfranchised.
Look familiar? It might if you are from Nashville, where I used the same group last year in a local cartoon bashing Nashville’s infamous Metro Planning Commission.
Many years earlier, the same group made an appearance in a cartoon that I drew in response to a plea for cartoons about the declining ranks of newspaper cartoonists. I’ll bet almost no one saw this one.
So, if this is the first time you’ve seen this slimy, smoky group, I forgive you.
When Trump complains that the GOP convention rules ignore the will of the voters, the retort from establishment Republicans is to say “those have been the rules all along!” Perhaps it is more damning that the rules have been so undemocratic all along. (That, plus I got to draw Trump’s butt.)
See me draw and color this one in real time in Photoshop in the video below!
Donald Trump has been out-maneuvered by Ted Cruz in the Republican delegate selection process, and he has been complaining loudly. Cruz simply does a better job of driving that establishment, GOP elephant. I almost drew this as an elephant character, but I thought the GOP corporate logo made a better point here.
Editors don’t like cartoons that show poo poo, but sometime poo poo is just what a cartoon needs. (Sorry, editors.) Check out the video below to see me drawing this one in real time.
We just put up an all new design for Cagle.com – a very big project for us. Please come and take a look, let us know what you think. The site is finally up to date and all device friendly (take a look on your phone). I think the layouts for the topical sections and artist sections are fun.
The new site has been in the works for a long time, and I should thank our contributing “Heroes” for their support over the last year and have made it possible for Cagle.com to continue. (Notice that there are no ads on the new site?)
This Trump/Cruz cartoon shows the poor Statue of Liberty reacting to the rhetoric. I hesitate every time I draw Liberty now. The Onion has made Lady Liberty into a symbol of third-rate editorial cartooning, always appearing with a tear in her eye. There’s some truth in that.
This cartoon is an update of the oldie below, where I had a Republican elephant at the left. This one needed an update!
